First Tee — Utah is the central place to donate your old golf clubs for a charitable purpose. Donations are tax deductible and you can feel great knowing you’re helping to grow the game.

Golf club donations made to First Tee — Utah support three worthwhile nonprofit ventures: Utah kids that participate in First Tee, Girls On Par, and the Utah Golf Foundations’ Veterans On Course program.

Kids in First Tee — Utah

At First Tee — Utah we know that there are special life lessons that can be learned on the golf course which make a difference off the course in so many aspects of daily life. Our programs intentionally focus on these skills and our coaches help the kids to learn about honesty, sportsmanship, responsibility, and perseverance – both in the game and in their everyday life.

Because we believe these life skills and character values are so important, we never turn any kid away. Sometimes that means a kid comes to us who doesn’t have golf clubs but wants to play, wants to learn.

And that’s where your donations come in. We maintain a club library with youth clubs of different sizes for the kids in our program who need them. We want to make sure that every child in our program has the best opportunity to learn, and that includes having proper equipment that is just the right size.

Utah Golf Foundations’ Veterans On Course

Veterans on Course is a program sponsored by The Utah Golf Foundation, the charitable affiliate of the Utah Golf Association. Veterans on Course is open to all Utah veterans as a way for them to receive golf instruction and playing opportunities free of charge.

At Veterans on Course events, our veterans receive lessons from PGA Professionals who cover the basics of a full swing, chipping, and putting. Vets rotate through the three stations of instructions and finish off with a nine-hole shotgun round.

In association with the Veterans on Course program, First Tee — Utah has joined in helping the Veterans on Course program by offering donated golf clubs, balls, and bags to vets who are just getting started in the game. The Vets Club Depot is located at First Tee — Utah’s chapter office at 680 West 3300 South in Salt Lake City, Utah. We also bring the Vets Club Depot to every Veterans on Course event.
