Specialty Classes at Golf the Round

LPGA*USGA Girls Golf & Fore Girls Only

Our classes will be led by experienced female coaches who serve as positive role models and mentors. They understand the unique challenges faced by girls and are committed to fostering a supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere.

The curriculum is designed to be engaging and empowering. In addition to learning the fundamentals of the game, such as putting, chipping, and full swings, participants will also:

  • Develop a positive self image and confidence.
  • Build teamwork and communication skills.
  • Learn about the mental aspects of the game, including focus and resilience.
  • Make new friends and have fun in a low-pressure environment.

By providing a safe and empowering space, we hope to keep more girls engaged in sports and help them reap the countless physical and mental benefits that come with an active lifestyle.

The younger girls class (ages 7-12) is led by Jessica Roestenburg, in partnership with the LPGA* USGA Girls Golf, has a passion for girls golf and has 6+ years experience as a First Tee coach. She focuses on creating a fun and engaging space for girls to learn about the sport and themselves, together. For questions about her classes email [email protected] for more information.

The older girls class (ages 13-17) Fore Girls Only is led by our Operations Manager, Caroline Conrad and Golf the Rounds First Assistant, Lauren Okutsu. Caroline is a highly experienced First Tee Coach that credits some of her love of the game to a class just like this one. Lauren is a experienced high school and collegiate player and future PGA member. If you have questions please reach out to Caroline Conrad at [email protected].

Meet Your Coaches

Caroline Conrad

I have been golfing since I can remember. Starting with a plastic Fisher Price driver. I played varsity golf all four years and senior year my high school team won state. What I love about First Tee is that, it brings a sense of belonging to a family for everyone who works for us and for the kids we teach. We are able to provide a safe environment for kids to grow in their personal lives and in golf. The kids never fail to make my day! My favorite golf course is Jug Mountain golf course and a fun fact about me is I am good at impressions and accents

Jessica Roestenburg

I have been golfing since I went to a kids golf camp at McRiley!  I am a lead First Tee coach – level 2. I am a former golfer at Westminster University.  I am also LPGA*USGA girls golf coach trained. I love First Tee because of the enthusiasm, openness, and energy brought by the girls in the setting of girls golf. My favorite golf course I have ever played is Mauna Lani on the Big Island of Hawaii! A fun fact about me is that I have a twin sister who golfs too.

First Tee Junior Golf For Life Class Description

Ages 7-9

First Tee Programs for ages 7-9 teach the game of golf in a fun, safe, and empowering environment. At this age group, we are introducing and engaging participants with both golf and life skills. Participants will get active and play golf with their peers to help them build inner strength, self-confidence, and enthusiasm for the game. Classes are designed to accommodate new and returning golfers of the same age. Participants will register and be grouped by age and will progress through the program with lessons adjusted to challenge players at their skill level.

Ages 10-12

First Tee Programs for ages 10-12 supports the exploration of both character and golf skills in active and collaborative ways. The learning experiences in the course help to build inner strength, self-confidence, and an enthusiasm for the sport, while encouraging the development of positive Game Changing behaviors. Classes are designed to accommodate new and returning golfers of the same age. Participants will register and be grouped by age and will progress through the program with lessons adjusted to challenge players at their skill level.

Ages 13-17

First Tee Programs for ages 13+ place a greater emphasis on the personal development of participants. These lessons help participants elaborate on their understanding, applying what they have learned to new situations on and off the course to deepen their skills as they evaluate, reflect on, and provide evidence of their new understanding of life and golf skills. As participants learn more about who they are and what they are capable of, they have the opportunity at First Tee to begin to look towards the future and plan their own paths. Classes are designed to accommodate new and returning golfers of the same age.
