First Tee Utah Safety Procedures for Junior Golf Programs:
  • Online pre-registration only, no day-of registrations.
  • Please come ready with clubs and playing supplies, water, hats, and sunscreen applied.
  • Group sizes will be limited to 16 participants.
  • There will be no shared equipment. Kids should bring their own clubs and supplies. If your child needs to borrow clubs, please email [email protected] to make arrangements prior to class.
  • Physical contact is discouraged, including high fives, handshakes, and contact during instruction.
Please arrive early so we can get the pre-practice screening going.  If you are showing any symptoms or are not feeling well, please stay at home. Here are procedures we will be following at classes:
  • Please wear a mask when you arrive. (We will have a few masks here, if someone forgets theirs, but we encourage participants to bring their own.)
  • When you arrive, a coach will go through a symptom questionnaire with you that may also include a temperature check. You will be asked the questions and whether you are experiencing any of the symptoms. If yes, you will need to leave. If no, you will be allowed to stay for class.
  • Once you are cleared, please continue to social distance as you move to activity stations or pre-class practice.  There will be activity stations set up to help us maintain social distancing.
  • Masks may be removed when you are ready to play.
We will do our best to make sure everyone is as safe as possible by taking these precautions, but you do attend at your own risk. From age 7 through 17, youth progress through levels by demonstrating The First Tee Nine Core Values, life and golf skills as well as passing an assessment. All participants regardless of age start at the PLAYer level.
  • PLAYer (required minimum age 7) – Tee it up for the first time and learn the game of golf and The First Tee’s Code of Conduct.
  • Par (Must be PLAYer certified. Recommended minimum age 9) – Focus on interpersonal and self-management skills on and off the course.
Parent Orientation is TBA. Parent Orientation provides parents with an in-depth introduction to the philosophy of The First Tee and helps the parent understand the progression path for children in the program. Each session is open to children ages 7 to 17.
