Golf for Life Classes:
First Tee Junior Golf for Life Class Description
Ages 7-11
First Tee Programs for ages 7-11 teach the game of golf in a fun, safe, and empowering environment. At this age group, we are introducing and engaging participants with both golf and life skills. Participants will get active and play golf with their peers to help them build inner strength, self-confidence, and enthusiasm for the game. Classes are designed to accommodate new and returning golfers of the same age. Participants will register and be grouped by age and will progress through the program with lessons adjusted to challenge players at their skill level.
Ages 12-17
First Tee Programs for ages 12-17 focus on the development of both golf and character skills. The lessons and activities in this program empower participants to explore both golf skills and character commitments appropriate for their stage of growth and development. Coaches support the development of confidence in participants through additional opportunities for them to demonstrate mastery and growth in their golf skills and abilities. Classes are designed to accommodate new and returning golfers of the same age. Participants will register and be grouped by age and will progress through the program with lessons adjusted to challenge players at their skill level.
Your child’s safety is our first and constant priority. We set up safety zones for all activities and include safety zone instructions and reminders in all activities with the children. We conduct background checks and child safety training for our coaches annually.
We welcome and invite each of you to participate as a volunteer assistant coach. You do not need to be a good golfer or an experienced teacher. We’ve got that covered. We need your help providing supervision for the kids. If you love the kids and can help them feel safe and supported you’ve got what it takes. A little golf experience or knowledge is an added bonus. If you would like to volunteer we will conduct a background check and provide some online training that takes about 2-3 hours to complete. Please call Rob at 440.339.1183 if you are interested.
Thank you for your support of First Tee — Utah at Southgate. We are grateful for you and excited to be working with your kids again.
